Delicious mussels over handmade pasta at Osteria Fresco

Sardinia, Italy

Sardinia, an island south of Corsica and north of Capri, is a true gem – a treasure trove of old-school Italian charm that's becoming increasingly rare these days. With its crystal-clear waters, stunning archipelago, fresh and delicious cuisine, and friendly locals who speak a little English (though there were places where no English was spoken at all, which we loved), Sardinia offers a slower-paced, incredibly rich cultural experience. The island is dotted with countless little towns, each with its own unique vibe and special allure. Below are some of our favorite experiences from this enchanting destination, which we loved so much that we visited two years in a row and can't wait to return to again and again.

Places to enjoy the sunset

The views from Cala di Volpe at sunset were stunning. Being able to watch this while nibbling on mouthwatering snacks and an incredible wine list along with the sounds of beautiful Italian music had us looking forward to cocktail hour every day of our stay
